Karras Grande Resort

We recently stayed at Karras Grand for 10 nights. The rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard, and the pool area was also well maintained each morning. We never had issues finding sunbeds, although some of them could really do with being replaced as they're showing signs of wear. The dining experience could definitely be improved. The dining room felt disorganized at busy times, and there was often a shortage of glassware. Beer was served in very small glasses, which meant frequent trips back and forth — larger glasses and better stock of glassware would make a big difference. Another area for improvement is the cultural aspect of the hotel. There wasn’t much in terms of local Greek influence — more traditional food, decor, or entertainment would really help give it a more authentic feel. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff, so can’t comment much there, but things ran smoothly overall during our stay. Overall: A clean and relaxed place to stay with a nice pool area. With some tweaks — especially in the dining experience and atmosphere — Karras Grand could be much better. Would we return? Possibly, depending on future improvements. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)

We spent 10 days at Karras Grande resort in July. We had a lovely holiday, great location and we love Greece. However, we spent most days eating away from the resort. The food was a real let down. Breakfast was almost inedible - lots of options each day for lunch and dinner but all the very same. Good vegetarian options too. One way to improve the food experience very easily would be just to allow more room for guests to move around, instead of creating queues at either end of the servery area. Also increase the quantity of crockery and cutlery to prevent running out of cutlery every single time! Sun beds around the pool are very uncomfortable, many are broken and need replaced. Family suite was very comfortable and air con a lifesaver! Really nice resort with good entertainment but food lets it down.

Excellent location in the Planos end of the resort. Very clean and lovely modern rooms. Friendly reception staff, always polite. 3 pools - 1 loud music during the day and better for teenagers, a lovely children’s pool and another near reception where the main pool bar was that we preferred with nice chill out music. Breakfast was fine, except egg lady too ages to make a fresh omelette. We didn’t use for evening meals as so many lovely restaurants on your doorstep. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Food- Average, we were hoping for a more Greek experience and was looking forward to healthy Greek food, it just seems to be the same stereo typical holiday buffet. But it is edible and not horrible. The food hall, however, needs much improvement. Always running out of cutlery and glasses, literally every meal time there is never enough. The tables aren't cleaned properly or fully set. Maybe not enough staff, I'm not sure. The kitchen and dining room staff seem fed up. Drinks- in our opinion are not good. No proper coke, fanta etc slushies aren't in the all inclusive and cost 4 euros each. Fresh orange is defo not fresh orange. Pink ladies are nice enough and beer not too bad. Pool - pools are okay, enough for a nice swim and aqua erobics etc. The main pool bar staff always miserable and always runs out of ice and ice cream. Always enough beds and you don't have to get up early to get some which is a plus. Snack bars aren't great, just burgers, hot dogs and biscuits with no healthy option that we have seen. Rooms- Rooms are nice and clean but a little small for families. We don't mind the room to be fair. Entertainment- pretty average like most. Hotel staff- Reception staff are amazing, always happy to help and go out of their way for us. They make this place. I have struck up quite a rapor with the lady on from 3 onwards, she as been the best so far. Again main pool bar guy always seems unhappy. Entertainment guy is always happy bless him, very friendly. Overhaul the hotel is nice. Zante in this area particularly is not what we were expecting, as we were excited to experience greece, as in traditional Greece. It is very commercialised and tourist based. It is not bad please don t get me wrong, just not what we wanted and quite an expensive area. Taxis are very expensive. The holiday package overhaul is nice honestly but not worth anywhere near the amount we paid with jet 2. I think this is the problem for us as we paid a hell of a lot for the holiday so was expecting much more for our money. Then its cost loads more once here. Could probably have gone to Thailand for the same as it as ended up costing us. Making the most of it now though as it's not bad.

We had a wonderful time at Karras Grande Resort in Zakynthos! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful – special thanks to Elena, who checked us in and made sure we felt welcome from the very first moment. The food at the hotel was excellent – a wide variety and fresh products. We were also delighted with the drinks – large and well-prepared. The rooms are spacious, modern, very well equipped, and comfortable, and the hotel’s location close to the town allows you to enjoy Zakynthos’ vibrant nightlife in the evenings. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would gladly return!
